Our New Website Is Live! Supporting Youth with Disabilities in Kansas
A New Hub for Transition Resources and Tools for Youth, Families, and Professionals
We're excited to announce the launch of the Kansas Youth Transition Network (KYTN) website—a new online resource created to help transition-age youth with disabilities, their families, and transition professionals across Kansas.
Whether you're a young person preparing for life after high school, a parent looking for answers, or a professional supporting students with disabilities, our site is built to connect you to the transition services and community support you need.
What is the Kansas Youth Transition Network (KYTN)?
The Kansas Youth Transition Network (KYTN) is a statewide project focused on improving the systems that support youth with disabilities as they move into adulthood. That means better support for things like:
- Career exploration and job experiences
- Competitive Integrated Employment (CIE)
- Independent living
- Postsecondary education and training
Through local KYTN councils, networks of youth, families, schools, community organizations, and employers, we're working together to build strong, sustainable supports in local communities throughout Kansas.

KYTN Website
This new platform is more than just a place for updates. It is a central hub for Kansas youth transition resources. On the KYTN website, you'll find:
- Information on transition planning for youth with disabilities
- Tips and tools for resources to help youth with disabilities with life after high school
- Resources and training materials, for families, educators, and service providers
- Updates on events, training opportunities, and success stories from the KYTN pilot sites
We believe youth and family leadership should be at the center of transition planning. This website reflects that value.
Join the Movement
This is just the beginning! As we expand KYTN Councils across Kansas, we'll continue updating the site with the latest success stories, council activities, and ways you can get involved.
