Yearly KYTN Symposium
The project will host a yearly KYTN Symposium to engage and inform children, youth, families, and professionals from across the state regarding innovative practices developed and used as part of the project and share best practices.
A focus of the symposium will be sessions led by youth members of the Steering Committee and local KYTN Councils to highlight their experiences on the project.
The planning committee of this project expressed a desire for this project to partner with and enhance existing efforts to support and inform people with disabilities. Thus, to stay true to the collaborative spirit of the project, the KYTN Symposium will partner with existing self-advocacy conferences held in the state, such as the Disability Caucus (held every-other year) and the Self-Advocate Coalition of Kansas annual conference.
By partnering with other existing conferences, our goal is to build capacity for existing and trusted self-advocacy efforts and disseminate findings to a broad audience.
